I bet 7 out of 10 people reading this list post are Google Chrome users. Right?
You might be knowing that Google Chrome is the most popular and the most used web browser.
But hey, do you have any idea about the data & the percentage of Chrome users?
According to Statcounter, Google Chrome holds 63.69% of Browser Market Share Worldwide.
Well, one of the reasons could be the availability of awesome browser extensions. Google Chrome offers hundreds of browser extensions to customize & enhance your browsing experience.
Also, Google Chrome has the Biggest Market Share with 63.69% Global Users and in the USA the percentage is 45.54%.
With the above data, we now get to know that Chrome is the leading web browser and it’s above the competition.
Anyways, today in this list post, I will try to help the people of Washington & New Jersey by providing what they are looking for…

Productivity – Today’s Need!
For all of the greatness that the internet world offers right from cute animal videos, GIFs, stories to interesting blogs like TechStudio 😉, one of its biggest downsides is it’s very distractive.
Just ask how many times have you sat down for some important work and been pulled into a pit of procrastination?
Perhaps you get absorbed in updates from social media, or maybe you click through a few emails or browse hot images or watch __ videos. 😜 (I used too, know more about me or check out 51+ random facts about me)
No matter where you click online, it’s very easy to be pulled into a black hole of distraction and low productivity.
And to solve that, I have kept productivity at the top, so let’s check out some of the best productivity chrome extensions in 2020.
List of Best Chrome Extensions for Productivity in 2020
Note: Some of the extensions listed here have some features in common but they are worth mentioning, and hence I have listed the chrome extensions that are productive in my point of view. (I hope, no one get’s offended)
1. EyeCare: Care for your Vision
- Users: 40K +
- Ratings: 4.2 (212 User Ratings)
I know it’s been more than an hour you have turned on your pc and staring at your screen constantly. Right?
While researching, I found this extension to be very helpful for someone like me (a Tech Blogger) who spends 7-8 hours every single day on pc & therefore I installed this extension immediately & tried to adopt this new way of working.
As per this 20-20-20 rule, every 20 minutes, this extension will notify you to take your eyes off your computer and look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds.
It offers great suggestions in multiple ways to take breaks and helps you with eye exercises based on the 20-20-20 rule and with lower back exercises. Very Useful.
At times, the sound alert can be annoying when you’re trying to concentrate. The interface is old-fashioned.
2. Clockify: The Time Tracker
- Users: 100K +
- Ratings: 4.0 (64 User Ratings)
Time tracking tools are the best ways to boost your productivity. And thankfully we have some awesome extensions for that as well.
Clockify is the only 100% free time management tool for teams and solo users.
It allows you to track the time you spend on projects and then analyze your level of productivity.
The best part about this extension is, you can use Clockify on the web, desktop, and mobile – all your tracked data is synced in real-time so you can seamlessly switch between devices. Isn’t it great?
I have used it for a while and found it really helpful.
Although premium services are available, they don’t do up-sales and It’s genuinely a 100% Free time tracker tool. Also, the reporting feature provides visual time breakdown, (very useful), and additionally we can export reports in pdf, CSV & excel file.
There’s usually some problems like slow loading of the extension, nothing more than that. Overall a perfect tool.
Note: If you need better integrations, in some cases you might find that Toggl is more flexible if you want it to communicate directly with certain accounting suites, customer relationship management (CRMs) and project management tools.
Category: Reading & Writing
3. Grammarly: Writing Tool
- Users: 10M +
- Ratings: 4.6 (38,384 User Ratings)
On the web, almost all of us do the writing part. Right? So to be productive we need to be accurate & correct at whatever we write.
So if the grammar wasn’t your interest or best subject in the school, try Grammarly. It’s like your professor standing over your shoulder, correcting your grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes as you write. (without punishing you, 😜)
For users like me, it’s a game-changer. Raise your hand if you suck at grammar ✋(I had bad grades in English)
It works whether you’re writing an essay for a class or a blog post for your website, composing an email for work, or just creating a Facebook post.
Grammarly helps you eliminate writing errors and find the perfect words to express yourself.
Anywhere you write, Grammarly follows and helps you on the fly (even in the comments section of any website). It detects the tone and suggests appropriate changes.
The free version is packed up with good features but it extensively advertises the paid version which is very irritating at times.
4. ProWritingAid: The Master Writing Assistant
- Users: 90K +
- Ratings: 4.8 (1,040 User Ratings)
If you want something more than just a grammar checker tool, you need to check out ProWritingAid. It’s better than it’s competitors.
ProWritingAid is rated 4.8/5 in the Chrome Store. No other writing assistant or grammar checker is rated so highly.
Unlike other tools, they do less marketing and advertising as their users recommend this tool. (Mee too :D)
Fun Fact: Before entering the blogging industry, I struggled a lot with grammar and used to make a lot of mistakes, but with this tool, I have improved a lot. All thanks to ProWritingAid.
This tool goes beyond grammar checking and it will definitely turn your good writing into great writing. It offers:
- Grammar checking, spell checking, and style improvements;
- Check for consistency of spelling, hyphenation, and capitalization;
- Eliminate clichés and redundancies;
- Check for terminology issues, Contextual thesaurus;
- Check for plagiarism, Improve readability;
- Find overused words;
- And a lot more!
For most of the users, their Premium Plan is more than enough. Here’s the discounted price (only if you go through my link)
It’s the Hands down the best tool for bloggers, marketers, or any user. Seriously, it’s worth every penny.
If you’re interested & want to seriously improve your writing, you can take yearly subscription as it’s prices are budget-friendly and reasonable.
No downsides found other than providing a little bit of wrong and inappropriate suggestions. It’s very rare and hence I don’t count it as a downside.
Also, you’ll find great positive reviews for this extension on the Chrome store & everywhere else.
Note: I have used both Grammarly and ProWritingAid, out of which the winner is the ProWritingAid because it has a ton of features, fast, accurate & overall it’s better than Grammarly & that’s why I recommend it.
You can Read my Review Here to know about ProWritingAid Tool, How to use it, number of benefits, pricing & plans, whether it is good for you or not, & lastly, an exclusive dicount for TechStudio readers 😀
5. Minimal Reading Mode: Clutter-Free Reading
- Users: 4K +
- Ratings: 4.1 (20 User Ratings)
I can claim that it’s one of the best tools that can drastically improve your productivity.
How the hell can anyone read an article on such a website? (Image below)
I respect this popular site (Tomsguide) but seriously it’s just a horrible experience. It doesn’t make me feel good that these mega tech sites have 3 sidebars. Seriously, 3 sidebars?
Note: I’m not against them nor advertising. I also use advertising but one should provide content with ads, not ads – ads- more ads & then content.
This is the reason that tools like Adblock & reading mode are so popular.
Anyways, now with the help of this tool, here’s how the same article looks like…
Now you can easily read the content. Looks great, isn’t it?
If you are someone who reads articles then you must install this extension. This tool removes all the formatting including ads.
Warning: On sites like TechStudio, never enable this tool as it clears all images, media and the designing of the site including navigation, ads, and all other formattings.
Useful for readers but useless for publishers.
This tool is very handy to use on sites that show more ads than content or have bad fonts. It makes reading so much interesting as it provides a clutter-free webpage.
Removes all kinds of media, ads, formating. It seriously Hurts Publishers. Overall it kills the designing efforts for sites like TechStudio.
6. Mate Translate: Translator + Dictionary
- Users: 300K +
- Ratings: 4.4 (6196 User Ratings)
Came across a site with unknown language? Worry not!
Just try Mate Translate.
Your all-in-one translator for web pages, highlighted text & Netflix subtitles. You can easily translate and also learn words in 103 different languages.
Mate helps you easily and effortlessly translate words, phrases, and documents from 103 languages. There are more translation tools available but mate is a little better.
This tool has a comprehensive dictionary and a custom curated phrasebook that will help you accelerate your language learning with both page translation and optional human translation.
Don’t MIss: 21+ Awesome WIndows 10 Tips and Tricks
It’s super user friendly and has a simple Interface. Features like One-click translation, Subtitles translation, instant dictionary, etc makes it a great tool. For sure it can boost your productivity in some way.
No downsides found other than a little slow translation at times. It’s very rare and hence I don’t count it as a downside. Also, you’ll just find positive reviews on the Chrome store.
Category: Task Management
7. Todoist for Chrome: #1 To-do list
- Users: 600K +
- Ratings: 4.6 (46,230 User Ratings)
When it comes to Time and Task management tools, Todoist is the first name that comes to mind.
This straightforward task list helps you stay on track with all your day to day goals.
Basically, ToDoist is a simple project management tool that lets you create highly organized and visually appealing to-do lists.
You can use tags to indicate priorities and separate work from home. Use the free version or upgrade for additional features.
It’s ranked as “the best to-do list right now” by The Verge.
An Amazing Fact: Todoist is used by 20 million people!
Apart from being the #No.1 to-do list, it’s a simple yet powerful tool with a simple interface making it easier to check off the completed items and see what still needs to be done. Quick and Easy!
Personally, I didn’t face any issues so far but some users reported that it works slow or doesn’t work. Also, the view type is a list view that maybe not suitable for some users.
8. TickTick: User-Friendly To-do & Task List
- Users: 90K +
- Ratings: 4.4 (563 User Ratings)
Yet another task management tool. TickTick is also a simple, user-friendly, and effective to-do & task list, which helps you to make everything done quite easily.
TickTick offers cross-platform service i,e it enables you to manage tasks on all your devices such as iOS, Android, and Chrome.
Besides, it allows you to backup & sync tasks on TickTick.com, where you can elegantly arrange your time & schedule.
TickTick Chrome Extension’s key features include:
- Sync all your to-do’s across all devices
- Recurring tasks and instant time reminder
- Drag tasks to rearrange the order
- Create subtasks in checklist + Add notes to tasks
- Plan agenda in calendar view
- Classify tasks into folders & Archive completed tasks
- Share task list to collaborate
- Convert google emails into tasks
- And a lot more!
The interface is quite good which made me try out this tool and I found it to be an awesome but less popular tool. Also, the feature like sync across multiple platforms along with flexible scheduling options makes it a good to-do list.
Just the working issue. I mean some users reported that the extension didn’t work, regarded as technical issues. Other than that it’s one of the best to-do lists but it’s not popular as it’s new in the market.
9. ClickUp: All in One Task List
- Users: 50K +
- Ratings: 4.4 (75 User Ratings)
ClickUp’s revolutionary Chrome Extension replaces five separate apps, virtually allowing you to do anything!
1. Create Tasks & Save Websites as Tasks
2. Time Tracking: Easily attach time to ClickUp tasks
3. Screenshots: Capture, mark up, and edit screenshots
4. Email: Create tasks and attach emails to tasks
5. Notepad: Note down anything
For this new & great extension, let the users speak for it.
Here’s what Raghvendra Says…
ClickUp is very easy to use, visually appealing, highly flexible for specific use cases (with its ability to turn apps on and off on a work space-by-work space basis and to customize project and tasks views, based on your specific needs) and has a wide spectrum of functionality, all of which together has enabled me to live mostly in just two apps for day-to-day operations, my CRM (for sales) and ClickUp (for client project management, company wiki, and personal task and knowledge management).
Additionally, ClickUp has an excellent interface that makes everything easy to understand and navigate.
This high-quality software is recommended to those who want to be able to manage all of their tasks better and to be ready to go through different sets of information and projects. Perfect for companies of all sizes, this program can help you organize individual and group tasks. You can learn how to set it up through videos online, once you get used to it, your work will get better.
It’s a visually appealing tool with great interface along with additional features like notepad, screenshots, emails, etc, makes it a must-try tool. Also, if you plan to switch to ClickUp then you can easily import tasks from other productive apps with just one click.
Some technical bugs, other than that it’s known as the best chrome extension for productivity as it replaces 5 other tools.
Note: You can try out all the To-do list mentioned above. Personally, I prefer ClickUp as it outranks the competition. But it’s up to you and your needs, so try out each and everyone and keep the one that suits your needs.
10. RescueTime: Track your Productivity
- Users: 100K +
- Ratings: 4.3 (228 User Ratings)
It’s great to use productive apps, but it still gets hard to consistently improve your productivity if you’re not tracking it.
The RescueTime Chrome extension brings that automated time tracking to your web browser keeping track of how much time you spend on which sites and auto-categorizing those sites from Very Productive to Very Distracting.
I started using RescueTime to set productivity goals and I found that the data it collects and charts it generates is really useful in identifying which websites and apps are wasting my time so I can better manage my attention.
Thankfully the most spent time was on TechStudio 😉
Really a handy tool to track the time spent on sites and get detailed reports. It offers a pretty simple interface and straightforward results.
Has issues with time tracking. It stops tracking time if you’re inactive.
